Astronomy – Session 4 (Grades finished 4th-8th)

Students will learn their way around the night sky as they are involved in daytime class sessions and hands-on experience with telescopes. They will view the night sky and learn the names of summer constellations and planets. The students will also travel to the Clark Planetarium in SLC, UT to observe the programs and exhibits offered at the planetarium. Families are invited to observe with the astronomers! Please meet at the lower parking lot below the dorms! Instructor: Denise Dewey *Students must ride the bus to and from the field trips.* *Students will be staying at the dorms at WWCC - all meals will be provided! Avatar: The Last Airbender (ages 7-12)

It's all about the elements in this exciting new course! Each day we will be exploring a new part of the world from Avatar the last Airbender. First we will explore the water nation, then the air nation, then the earth nation, and we will end with the fire nation. We will learn all about the culture these nations were based on, along side, the different martial arts from each as well as many STEM activities centered around each element. T-Ball Basics – Session 1 (ages 5-10)

Home on the Range – Session 2 (Ages7-9)

How would you like to have an experience in seeing what it was like living on a ranch 100 years ago? You can do that when you go with us to a historical ranch outside of Pinedale, Wyoming. Students will see what the inside of a house looked like long ago, gather chicken eggs, visit the ice house and many other fun things are in store for the day! The ranch has a gift shop with items starting at $1.00 where you could grab a souvenir.  We will start our day at 9:00am at the college circle and arrive back in the same location about 4:00pm. Instructor: Dana Sykes *EACH STUDENT WILL NEED TO BRING THEIR OWN LUNCH AND WATERBOTTLE.*

Lens-Ational Photography (Ages 8-13)

We will head to Ashley National Forest for a day learning how to capture a compelling photograph! Bring any kind of "camera" (phone, inexpensive camera, digital camera, ipad) If it can transfer the images to a computer, it'll work! We will be meeting at a safe location and will be cycling around town to different parks and trails where we can learn and ride all at once! Bikes and helmets are provided, but you are also able to provide your own! Please bring a cold lunch, water bottle, and a sense of adventure every day!! The instructor will be reaching out to let you know about the locations and where to meet. Session 2: Every Tuesday and Thursday Ages: 11-13

SBOCES Summer Theatre for Youth – Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Jr.

Auditions will be Saturday, May 4, 2024, 10am to 12pm, downstairs in room B120 (under the Theatre) at Western Wyoming Community College Students, ages 8-18, interested in the musical should prepare a short song to perform while acting (no more than 1-minute total please). Please bring sheet music for the pianist.  Any students and/or parents interested in helping build sets, costumes and props or working backstage should also come by and speak with the directors.  Rehearsals will be Monday to Thursday 9am-1pm, July 1-25, with performances on July 24 and July 25 at 7pm in the WWCC Theatre.
