Get lost in the stars in our SBOCES Astronomy Camp! Students will be learning all about astronomy and what makes it so beautiful! There will be hands on learning with telescopes and great opportunities to look at the sky to see what it's all about!  Students will be staying at the dorms Monday through Thursday and picked up at 10:00 am Friday!

Grades:  4th grade (completed) -8th grade

MUST HAVE COMPLETED 4TH GRADE AND POSSESS MATURITY LEVEL  TO FOLLOW DIRECTIONS, SLEEP OVERNIGHT IN DORMS, AND BE RESPONSIBLE.

  Early Childhood Exploration Camp: Be A Kid This Summer session 1 ¡Se habla Español! June 9th -August 6th (TUESDAY -THURSDAY) Be a Kid This Summer: Creative Play & Exploration Camp is a hands-on, play-based camp designed to prepare young children for preschool, kindergarten, and first grade in a fun and nurturing environment. Children will rotate through engaging stations that include simple science experiments, creative arts and crafts, sensory play, building activities, and imaginative play. Daily experiences also include music and movement, games, story time, and themed activities such as “Christmas in Summer,” “Summerween,” and more. This camp focuses on early learning through play, helping children build confidence, social skills, independence, and fine and gross motor development. Inspired by child-centered learning approaches. Activities encourage creativity, exploration, and collaboration. Each day includes a balance of structured activities and guided free play, along with quiet time for reading or small group work. Can register for session 1 and 2. This course is open to all skill levels, from complete beginners to those looking to expand their digital knowledge. Instruction will be flexible and personalized, combining small group lessons with one-on-one support to meet each learner’s individual needs. Participants will learn essential skills such as using a computer mouse and keyboard, adjusting phone settings, sending emails, accessing and organizing photos, and navigating the internet. More advanced learners will have opportunities to explore topics such as online job applications, digital communication, content creation (including YouTube), and the effective use of modern tools such as AI. This class emphasizes real-life application, helping participants gain independence and confidence in using technology for everyday tasks such as communication, employment, and personal interests. Each day, we’ll dive into a new literary world- from the "Wild Rumpus" of a jungle island to the colorful protests of a box of crayons. Campers will explore different characters and settings through hands-on projects—from engineering challenges and experiments to obstacle courses that put them right in the middle of the action.
